Par :Maurice HAKIZIMANA
Grace is her name…
Grace is her name…
Grace is how we call her…
Grace—yes, Grace—has become the very definition of my life.
Grace in her eyes.
Grace in her words.
Grace in the way she loves quietly—
without calculation,
without ever growing weary.
She is Grace…
A Grace in my life.
A Grace, or rather a presence that became my refuge.
A Grace—
a gentleness placed by God
upon every path I walk.
She is tall and elegant,
carrying that rare nobility
that time can neither fade nor steal.
She has beautiful eyes
that have always rested upon me
with a gaze of peace.
Even when the world judged me harshly,
where others saw a man to condemn,
she saw a man to understand.
For she knows me.
She knows my principles,
my battles,
my silences,
my wounds.
She knows I am a man of heart and courage—
a man who dares to stand firm,
a man who never sold his mind,
nor surrendered his conscience to the crowd.
And in the darkest hours of my life,
She neither abandoned me nor doubted me.
She remained.
Strong.
Faithful.
Unshakable.
Because of her…
Because of her, I became the man I am today.
Because of her, I grew stronger through trials.
Because of her, I learned patience in storms,
and the quiet strength of service
without expecting reward.
Because of her, I discovered
that kindness is a silent strength.
Because of her, I learned
that love can lift a weary man.
And that faithfulness is worth more than all speeches.
Because of her…
I became more beautiful—
not only in the eyes of men,
but in soul and in heart.
For her love shaped my being
like an artisan patiently polishing his masterpiece.
And the greatest blessing of all…
Because of her, I became a father.
From our love were born two lights, two promises, two wonders:
Balsam (2019)—our tenderness in the middle of storms,
and Splendid (2021)—our radiance of joy and hope.
Two sons. Two blessings.
Two cords woven into our souls
into an even deeper covenant.
She followed me everywhere,
with a loyalty worthy of honor.
Through departures, borders, and uncertainties,
She remained my confidante,
my companion,
my quiet strength.
Twenty-three years today…
Twenty-three years of love and tears,
of highs and lows,
of battles and rebirths.
Yet through every season of our story,
we remained united.
And at the center of this union… God.
Jah Jehovah—our invisible yet eternal cord.
Binding us with power and mercy.
When our strength was failing, He sustained us.
When the roads grew dark, He lit our steps.
And day after day, He continues
to weave our love toward eternity.
So today, my wife… my Grace…
I celebrate you with gratitude and admiration:
For your beauty.
For your strength.
For your faithfulness.
For the grace you carry within you.
And if I had to begin life again—
through every nation crossed,
every trial endured,
every dream pursued—
I would still choose you.
You.
Always you.
Happy wedding anniversary to us.
