The Miss France 2026 competition took place on December 6, 2025, at the Zénith in Amiens, in the Somme department. At the end of the evening, it was Hinaupoko Devèze, Miss Tahiti 2025, who was crowned Miss France 2026, succeeding Angélique Angarni-Filopon, Miss Martinique 2024 and Miss France 2025. She is the sixth Miss Tahiti to win the title.

Hinaupoko Devèze— Who Is She?

Hinaupoko Devèze, born on March 17, 2002, in Papeete (French Polynesia), is a French beauty queen. She was crowned Miss Tahiti 2025 and later Miss France 2026, becoming the 96th Miss France. She is also the sixth Miss Tahiti to win the national crown.

Hinaupoko Céline Devèze (her first name meaning “great goddess” in Marquesan) was born on March 17, 2002, in Papeete, French Polynesia, to a Marquesan mother (from the island of Ua Pou) and a metropolitan French father.

She grew up between French Polynesia, New Caledonia, and the south of France, especially in Pompignan, where she spent around fifteen years before returning to live in Tahiti in 2023. She first studied law before switching to psychology, in which she obtained a degree. At the same time, she took interest in Marquesan culture and joined a dance troupe.

Elected Miss Tahiti 2025

Hinaupoko Devèze was elected Miss Tahiti 2025 on June 28, 2025, in the gardens of the Pirae town hall, succeeding Temanava Domingo. Before winning the pageant, she worked as an administrative secretary, organizer of eco-friendly trips related to the Marquesas Islands, and as a model.

Elected Miss France 2026

Representing French Polynesia, she competed in the Miss France 2026 pageant held in Amiens. She appeared in a segment themed around Antiquity, as well as in her regional costume inspired by Marquesan culture, designed by Hélène Coudret, on the theme Patutiki.
Her “cause close to her heart” is mental health, motivated by a burnout she experienced in 2020 during her law studies.

She was crowned Miss France 2026, ahead of Miss New Caledonia, Juliette Collet, the first runner-up. Following the cyberbullying faced by Miss France 2025, the Miss France organization announced that Camille Cerf (Miss France 2015) would act as a mentor to support Hinaupoko Devèze throughout her reign.

She also took part, at age 19, as a model, in a music video by the rapper Koba LaD — information she confirmed during the competition, saying she had good memories and gained valuable experience from it.

Controversy Surrounding Miss France 2026

At the end of the evening, Hinaupoko Devèze, Miss Tahiti, won the coveted title of Miss France 2026. Unfortunately, the event was overshadowed by a controversy on Sunday. A video surfaced showing Miss Aquitaine and Miss Provence complaining about not being showcased. Julie Zitouni even made very hurtful comments.

On Instagram, Lola Lachère, Miss Nord–Pas-de-Calais, spoke about her Miss France journey on Sunday. It was a month “driven by determination,” said the 21-year-old. Proud of her journey, she added: “Last night, I stepped on stage and gave the very best of myself.” Before proclaiming: “What a pride it was to represent Nord–Pas-de-Calais!”

The regional contestant had been one of the favorites even before the final. An artificial intelligence had even predicted her victory. Unfortunately, Miss Nord–Pas-de-Calais did not reach the top 12 and was eliminated before the public vote.

“Today, I remain in disbelief…,” she wrote. “The evening was intense, exhausting, full of emotions. I need to take a step back, to rest,” she confided. She added: “I will get back to you later, I promise.”

In the rest of her message, the beauty queen also congratulated her “adventure buddy, Hina.”
“You shone, and you will continue to shine even more,” she told Miss France 2026. “You are going to be an incredible Miss France, never doubt yourself. I will always be there to support you, at every step, every moment.”

After a month in the Miss France adventure carried by determination, last night I stepped on stage and gave the very best of myself! ✨
