Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum has decided to file a complaint after being sexually assaulted in broad daylight on Tuesday — an incident that reflects what many women in the country face daily. Sheinbaum wants to promote criminal prosecution for such acts across all 32 Mexican states.

An incredible scene unfolded in Mexico when a man managed to touch the president’s chest before being arrested. The surreal incident occurred on November 4, when a man attempted to sexually assault the President of the Republic, Claudia Sheinbaum.

The man slipped behind the head of state unnoticed by her bodyguards, kissed her, and then tried to touch her chest.

The alleged attacker was later subdued and handed over to the authorities. He now faces possible charges of sexual assault.
