Former Zambian President Edgar Lungu will be buried in South Africa rather than in his home country, due to a disagreement between his family and the Zambian government.

Edgar Lungu died on June 5th, at the age of 68, in a hospital in South Africa. The process of repatriating his body to Zambia for burial was disrupted by a bitter dispute between the current government and his family, who refused to allow current Zambian President Hakainde Hichilema to attend the funeral.

During his lifetime, Mr. Lungu was a political rival of Hakainde Hichilema, who canceled the 16-day national mourning he had initiated a few days earlier.

Lungu family spokesperson and lawyer Makebi Zulu said the decision to bury the former president in South Africa was “in line with the family’s wishes to hold a private ceremony.”[DW]

  1. I have seen lots of useful items on your site about desktops. However, I’ve got the thoughts and opinions that notebook computers are still not quite powerful more than enough to be a wise decision if you often do projects that require many power, like video modifying. But for net surfing, statement processing, and the majority of other popular computer functions they are perfectly, provided you never mind small screen size. Appreciate sharing your notions.
