They killed the boy because he stole a sugar cane
In the Ngororero District, Rwanda, today, March 31, 2025, early in the morning at 9:00 a.m., three children stole a sugarcane (igisheke or igikaju in the local language) and were caught and beaten as if they were stealing gold or as if they were terrorists! One of them escaped, but they are chasing him as if he had caused a plane crash!
The one who was killed after being beaten is named Tuyizere Félix; they were beating him as if they were beating a snake. His sin? The theft of a sugarcane. Who killed him? The killer is Babugavuba Reverien, nicknamed “Kabwana,” along with Nkurunziza Jean Baptiste, nicknamed Mbundi, and a woman named Murerabana Germaine.
As if that were not enough, in order to show them that they have nothing to complain about, these killers who own the sugarcane fields also demanded compensation from the parents of these children for their sugarcane! One family paid 5,000 Frw in cash, another 2,500 Frw, and the parents of the killed child must also pay 5,000 Frw in compensation. All this, because of a sugarcane.
