Goma: Delcat Idengo (real name Delphin Katembo Vinywasiki) – famous Congolese artist and singer was found dead

HAKIZIMANA Maurice

Goma-DRC there were nameless killings and massacres during the M23 occupation and even after! Aid workers and UN experts claim to have collected around 3,000 dead bodies in the city of Goma, not including those who “could” have been killed and thrown into mass graves! Among those killed was a famous singer from Goma, Delcat Idengo (real name: Delphin Katembo Vinywasiki)!

He is known for not mincing his words in his art where he was not afraid to sing songs criticizing the State and the President himself! He is also known for having organized demonstrations demanding the departure of MONUSCO because according to him (and others) it is useless!

He was even imprisoned but exonerated by the Congolese DR justice system! He was being prosecuted for having awakened the Gomatricians and all the Congolese people (in his songs) about lying politicians and he allegedly disrespected or even insulted President Tshisekedi. He was imprisoned again for criticizing the government and the FARDC for not doing their job in the fight against the M23!

When Goma fell into the hands of the M23 he was still in Munzenze prison (comparable to that of Mageragere in Rwanda or Mpimba in Burundi). He escaped with 4,400 others!

The reason why it is believed that it was the M23 who killed him (even though he denies it) is because he had released a song called “Dawa ya Mutusi” (the Tutsi medicine)! It’s a song that calls everyone to be Mzalendo and to finish the “Batusi” problem and thus make the Congo peaceful for good!

One day before his execution, on February 12, 2025, he published a song of revolt against the M23/Rwanda rebels, defying the danger that still threatened him. His exceptional revolutionary style, his voice which carried the resistance, cost him his life. He was shot and died on the spot, in front of eyewitnesses who testified, leaving behind him an immense void and deep sadness.

Speaking about his death, Minister Patrick Muyaya said:

“For him, and for each of the thousands killed by Rwanda and those who work with and for them, justice will soon be served.”

This another great Congo war is yet another machine to exterminate humanity! Massacred civilians (all tribes combined) are not counted!

But who benefits from the crime?

This world,
