When I was sixteen, I met a 22-year-old guy on the internet.

He had a car, a full-time job as a law assistant, and was very advanced in his college career.

I, on the contrary, was a schoolgirl.

My income was $50 a month (that my dad gave me to buy snacks). I didn’t have a license or ID, and my parents wouldn’t let me go anywhere I wanted; I had to ask for permission at least a week in advance.

However, even though we were in very different stages of life, we got along very well and “fell in love.”

According to him, I was very mature for my age, and he liked that I always knew what I wanted. We made plans for me to go to the same college so we could spend more time together, and he was more than happy to support me in anything I needed.

At that moment, I thought that I was very lucky to find someone successful like him to fall in love with me, and I felt I was a very good person because I was enough for someone who was already in such a different stage than mine.

But later, I discovered the real reason why he was interested in me.

He would pick me up at school and make sure I didn’t have time to catch up with my friends. Since I didn’t go out much because of my parent’s restrictions, he controlled every going out I had permission to go to. He even gained my parents’ trust, so they would only let me go out with him because he “protected me.”

In general, he manipulated me to do everything he wanted because I didn’t know what a real relationship looked like.

He didn’t choose me because of my personality or who I was; he chose me because I was naive and he could control me.

Someone his age would never let him do this, mainly because college girls are at a stage where they want to go out and meet the world, so he chose someone who would let him do whatever he wants.

But I didn’t have so many friends. I practically only focused on my studies and being at home, and my priority was that relationship.

If I had to choose between other kids my age and him, I would always choose him because he was “successful” compared to people in my grade. He earned his own money; he had a vehicle and “maturity.”

When I started college and started gaining my own money and more independence, we broke up.

The relationship was more toxic every day because I opened my eyes to the real world and gained more confidence and friends, things he didn’t like because I was not in his power anymore.

But instead of looking for help, evaluating himself, and growing, he found another young girlfriend who goes to school to impress.

Most old men prefer young girls because they can impress them more easily.

As you can see, at 16 years old, if I had to compare dating someone my age who is also in school, is interested in playing with his friends and doing homework, and has a lot of jokes, or a man who works, earns money, buys me things and has a car, it was evident that I was going to choose the older boy.

Old men look for young girls because they know they would be the “best option,” no matter the red flags they have.

It’s easier to choose from a group of girls that don’t know the real world and would choose him over all the boys than become a good man for someone their age.

Young girls will see any basic tricks and the bare minimum as something big, like getting picked up in a car or paying for a date because they are not used to those things.

So old men don’t have to try very hard to be impressive; just do what a boy can’t do yet.

This happens at any stage. Some examples are:

  • Sixteen-year-old boys can’t pay for every date, so girls will choose the twenty-year-old boy who already earns their money.
  • Twenty-year-old boys don’t have their own place yet, so twenty-year-old girls would choose older boys who live alone.
  • Guys between 25 and 35 cannot fully support a woman, so women of that age choose older men who give them a salary so they do not have to work.

And the list goes and goes, not only with money but also with stability, maturity, and promises.

One thing I liked about older men when I was younger was their ability to compromise in the relationship. Boys my age never wanted something serious, but older men promised to be with me forever, and I valued that more.

I know more people reading this would say, “This would not happen if women were not interested.” However, most of them don’t choose them because of those things specifically but because they make them feel they need those things by manipulating them; let me explain better.

Another reason old men prefer younger girls is because they can manipulate them better.

I didn’t choose my boyfriend because he was “successful.” I chose him because he made me feel he was.

Being 16 years old, I wasn’t going to conclude that dating someone older was better than someone my age on my own; it was that older person who taught me that he was better than my friends. He gave me all those things to make me feel he was better, and he made sure I noted these things.

Then, when I was already convinced and in love, he started manipulating me with the excuse that he was the best thing I could have.

Since I was naive, I thought this was how a relationship should work. I had no experience with real dating, so what he taught me was what I thought a relationship was.

I stopped talking to male friends, I only went out with my boyfriend, and I didn’t let other people come to my house. I even stopped posting a lot on my social networks because “I shouldn’t be exposing myself if I already had a boyfriend.”

Those types of manipulations are only possible if you are older, teaching a young girl how she should behave. Especially if she had no much experience in dating in advance.

Finally, almost all men look for someone who “has no experience” because they don’t know how to satisfy someone who knows what he is doing.

Finally, something I have realized now that I am mature is that old men look for young women without “much experience” because they do not know how to satisfy a woman who knows what she wants.

A man who is secure, smart, and good enough will not care how many people you have been with because he knows he will make you feel good no matter how many people you have to compare.

Insecure men who are more worried about their ego, their reputation, and their own satisfaction will never look for a woman their age because they are afraid of them.

They know deep down they are not good enough, so they search for someone who doesn’t know about anything.

With my first boyfriend, I was happy with everything he did because I didn’t know any better. I felt he was being romantic by appearing in places where I was because he wanted to see me. I thought he was detailed and cared about me because he used to pick me up from school every day and was there before I got out.

I thought he was a good person because he told me everything he did because he cared about me.

But he was able to make me feel all of this because I had no experience.

Someone older will know from the start he wants to manipulate and will not believe them.

Old men look for young, inexperienced women because they won’t have to work hard to be good.

If you are a woman in your 20s, 30s, or 40s, and you hear a man of your age saying that he is not interested in you because they prefer younger women, don’t feel bad about it.

On the contrary, do the totally opposite because you will discard a man who would not be able to make you happy.

Men who look for younger girls because “they are better” are only afraid of not being enough for someone of their age. They are not willing to do more than the minimum, and they look for younger because they know women their age will realize they are losers.

Young girls are easy to convince, impress, and conform. Mature women know what they want and will not be impressed by some cheap tricks. Old men know they will have to be actually good to be with you, so they won’t even try.
