Uganda, officially the Republic of Uganda, has still within it local kingdoms, each ruled by a monarch and laws and customs of their own,and that doesn’t bother in any way, Mr Yoweli Kaguta Museveni Tibuhaburwa president of Uganda. The main present kingdoms in Uganda are TooroBunyoro,Busoga,Rwenzururu and ofcourse Buganda!

This one who officially married the lady Jovia Mutesi is His Majesty the Kyabazinga, William Gabula Nadiope.BUSOGA means “Land of the Soga” (or in Lusoga: Obwakyabazinga bwa Busoga) with 10,318.1 km2 (3,983.8 sq mi), and is the kingdom of the 11 principalities of the Basoga or Soga (singular Musoga) people. Its capital is Bugembe, near Jinja (Uganda’s second-largest city, after Kampala). Busoga comprises eleven districtsKamuliIgangaBugiriMayugeJinjaLuuka, and the new districts of BugweriBuyendeKaliro,Namutumba and Namayingo District.

Language: OluSoga and English.Ethnic group: Basoga. Current king: Kyabazinga William Gabula.Prime minister of the kingdom, sir Joseph Muvawala.

One anecdotal point for the newbies to Busoga culture- on the night the King gets married, no man is allowed to sleep on their beds, as a sign of respect for the man-of-men. No man must sleep or have sex with his wife the same night.

Do your own ethnic or tribe group, still has “Umwami” or king? Please drop here his full names🏃

Congratulations to His majesty the King.

  1. I’ve been browsing online greater than three hours these days, but I never discovered any interesting article like yours. It is pretty value sufficient for me. In my view, if all website owners and bloggers made just right content as you did, the internet will likely be a lot more helpful than ever before. “I think that maybe if women and children were in charge we would get somewhere.” by James Grover Thurber.
