Dimanche 10 septembre 2023 dans le village de São Lourenco de Bairro, au centre du Portugal, les habitants se sont reveillés comme d’habitude et se sont retrouvés sous le vrai vin rouge, inondant leurs routes comme une rivière toute rouge. Deux millions de litres du précieux bon vin prêt à la consommation se sont déversées dans leurs rues.
Qu’est-ce qui s’est passé?
L’incident est causé par un éclatement de deux cuves dans une distillerie située sur les hauteurs du village. Dans son communiqué officiel, la distillerie Levira affirme qu’il n’y a eu aucun blessé, et a présenté ses excuses pour les dégâts causés!
Des dégâts?
Oui,le torrent de vin rouge a provoqué des dégâts matériels dans les rues de São Lourenco. Le média local Diario de Coimbra précise:
« Le vin a inondé la route, les routes voisines et les terrains, et est entré dans au moins une cave »
L’entreprise se dit prête à assumer « l’entière responsabilité des coûts liés au nettoyage et à la réparation des dommages ».
Les pompiers ont rapidement intervenu et une équipe de la protection civile a tout fait pour « minimiser les impacts », comme le dit la distillerie.Ainsi,la rivière de vin a été neutralisée,collectée, et acheminée vers une station d’épuration.
Un pays où le vin coule à gogo
Le Portugal est connu pour son bon vin mais le secteur viticole dit ne plus savoir quoi faire de l’excès de vin. Face à cette crise viticole, l’Etat portugais a apporté plus de 20 millions d’euros pour mettre en place une « distillation de crise » et soutenir le secteur viticole tout en cherchant un marché pour le vin qui coule à gogo dans le pays.
