Poem: A Woman: A New Element in Chemistry
Scientists have discovered an element
That chemistry never knew before.
It cannot be found on the old periodic table—
Yet somehow, we meet it every day.
Its name is Woman,
Its chemical symbol is Wm,
And unlike every other element,
Its properties cannot be explained by science alone.
Atomic number: Impossible to determine
Every specimen appears to have its own number.
Atomic mass:Light when first discovered,
But mysteriously increases with time—
Along with responsibilities, memories,
Handbags, children, expectations,
And things she says you should have remembered.
Electron configuration: Highly complex.
Even advanced scientists have failed
To predict where the next electron will go.
Isotopes: Numerous.
Each one unique, beautiful,
And potentially more powerful than the last.
Melting point:Varies according to treatment.
Kindness, affection and sincere compliments
May cause rapid melting.
Freezing point:Can occur suddenly,
Especially when ignored, disappointed,
Or confronted with the words:
“You’re overreacting.”
Boiling point:Extremely variable.
It may remain perfectly calm for hours—
Then suddenly reach 100°C
When the wrong molecule enters the reaction.
State of matter:Usually solid and determined,
Sometimes liquid with emotion,
Occasionally gaseous—
Especially when asked to explain something
For the fifth time.
Woman is a highly reactive element.
She reacts strongly to:
Love + respect + attention → happiness
Neglect + lies + disrespect → explosion
She possesses a powerful emotional valence,
And the number of bonds she forms
Depends largely on trust.
She may form stable compounds with:
Love, friendship, family, loyalty and commitment.
But some combinations are highly unstable.
For example:
Woman + dishonesty → dangerous reaction
Woman + disrespect → immediate oxidation
Woman + betrayal → irreversible decomposition
Woman is also a remarkable catalyst.
She can accelerate:
Love.
Family growth.
Success.
Motivation.
Organization.
And sometimes—
The spending of money.
In certain conditions,
She becomes a powerful money-reducing agent,
Especially when exposed to:
Gold + Silver + Diamonds + Platinum
and, under laboratory conditions,
Credit Cards + Debit Cards + Cheque Books.
The reaction may be particularly rapid
During birthdays, anniversaries, weddings,
Valentine’s Day, Christmas,
Or an apparently harmless visit to a shopping centre.
The element Wm
Is most commonly found near mirrors.
Concentrations may increase
In the presence of:
Perfume,
Makeup,
Shoes,
Clothing,
Jewellery,
And photographs.
However, its natural habitat
Is not limited to the bathroom mirror.
It can also be found
In homes, workplaces, schools, hospitals,
Offices, laboratories,
And virtually every civilization on Earth
When Wm is mixed with in-laws,
The reaction may become highly exothermic.
Laboratory technicians are therefore advised
To maintain a safe distance
And never interfere with an ongoing reaction.
When Wm is placed beside her parents,
Its chemical properties may change dramatically.
The normally independent element
May suddenly become:
“Mum, what do you think?”
One of the most powerful reactions of Wm
Occurs when it encounters another element
With a similar chemical structure.
Woman + Woman + Man
may produce an unpredictable reaction.
Scientists call this phenomenon
The Jealousy Effect.
Symptoms may include:
Raised eyebrows,
Silence,
Intense observation,
Unexpected questions,
And the famous laboratory expression:
“Who is she?”
At this stage,
All unnecessary experiments should be suspended.
Scientists have attempted
To place Woman (Wm)
Among the metals, non-metals and noble gases.
They failed.
She is too precious to be classified as an ordinary metal,
Too reactive to be a noble gas,
Too complex to be a simple compound,
And too extraordinary
To fit comfortably into any existing group.
So a new category was created:
Its members are:
Beautifully complex.
Highly reactive.
Emotionally intelligent.
Extremely valuable.
Impossible to duplicate.
And although scientists may continue
To study its atomic structure,
One fact remains beyond dispute:
Woman is not merely another element in humanity.
She is an element that makes humanity possible.
So handle Wm carefully.
Do not attempt to isolate it.
Do not take it for granted.
Do not expose it unnecessarily to toxic elements.
Instead:
Give it respect.
Give it love.
Give it loyalty.
Give it patience.
Because when Woman (Wm) is placed
In the right environment,
Something extraordinary happens:
Chemistry becomes life.
And life becomes beautiful.
